Community of Caledon East Ontario
Just north of town is the Villa Caledon Inn & James McCarty Pub which offers great food and drinks in a historic and beautiful setting. Golfing, skiing and spas are all available in the amazing town.
First settled in 1821 by Elisha and Elizabeth Torbox, Caledon East had expanded to hundreds of people by the 1850s and was commonly known as Paisley. When the Hamilton and Northwestern Railway arrived in 1877 prosperity came with it but this was halted in 1960 when the railway ceased operations. Caledon East joined the newly amalgamated Town of Caledon.
